About Me
I graduated in 2005 from Williamston High School and went on to graduate in 2009 from Michigan State University. I majored in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology through the College of Education. I did my student teaching at Dewitt High School and Laingsburg Elementary School, both in physical education. After my year of student teaching I was hired at Caseville Public Schools to teach physical education, health, and science. I also served as the assistant athletic director at Caseville, along with the boosters club president. I coached junior varsity basketball for one year and boys varsity basketball for three years. I also run youth programs and summer basketball camps.
This fall will mark my 9th year of teaching physical education and science. I spent four years at Caseville and in August of 2014 I was hired to teach physical education, strength and conditioning and science at Brown City Jr./Sr. High School. I was also hired to coach boys varsity basketball. I truly enjoy teaching at Brown City and I am looking forward to another great year and have nothing but positive experiences with the students, staff, administration, and community members of Brown City.
Growing up I loved sports, I was always outside participating in some sort of physical activity. In high school I participated in football, basketball, and track. I continue to play basketball a few times a week and work out almost daily. I developed a passion for teaching and coaching thanks to my outstanding coaches and teachers in high school. These are my true passions. I love being around kids all day. A lot of times the most fun I have is coaching youth basketball and instructing at camps.
Besides coaching and teaching I love my Spartans. I have season football tickets and enjoy tailgates in the fall. I have been to the last two Final Fours Michigan State has reached in men’s basketball(2009 in Detroit and 2010 in Indianapolis). During my free time I like to watch sports along with some tv shows and movies. I have a passion for reading and these are some of the books I read this spring/summer ; Power of a Postitive Team, Getting to Know Us, The Culture Code, The Talent Code, The Captains Class, Lead for God's Sake, Make Your Own Bed, Concious Coaching, What Drives Winning and The Seed.
I also enjoy being outdoors. From hiking and fishing to water sports I love spending time doing outdoor activities. Some of my favorite travels have taken me through the hills of West Virginia and Michigan’s upper peninsula and the northern part of the lower peninsula. I also love spending time in northern Michigan (Boyne area) and went to Hawaii last year, If you want more information, please contact me.
I got married in August of 2015. We had a wonderful wedding with great family and friends. My wife is a 2nd/3rd grade teacher at Brown City Elementary School and helps with youth basketball. My wife and I became parents June of 2017 to an amazing little girl.
